Why it's hard to launch an educational IT product without your own team

🤷

The freelancer built it — and vanished

According to a vc.ru survey (2024), 43% of companies lose their first developer within 6 months. You found a freelancer, they built something close to the spec, then moved on. Bugs, iterations, support — all on you. And rebuilding costs as much as the first version.

💰

Traditional development — expensive and slow

The average educational IT product budget at Russian agencies is $10-30K with 3-6 month timelines (Clutch.co, 2024). For a company without a dev team, that's prohibitive. Low-code + AI stack cuts the budget 3-5x with the same features.

No technical partner who understands education

You have an idea for an educational product, but a regular web studio will build 'an app with quizzes.' According to CB Insights, 35% of products fail to find an audience — in educational solutions this often means the product works technically but doesn't solve the problem.

How we design and build solutions

🔍

Design: from task to architecture

  • We break down your task: who to train, what to teach, in what format.
  • We design the user journey and learning logic.
  • We choose the stack: Telegram bot, web platform, quiz system — whatever fits your task.

Build on low-code + AI stack

  • Low-code tools + AI coding = agency speed at freelancer cost.
  • AI features out of the box: content generation, answer grading, adaptation.
  • 1-4 months to a working product with real users.
🔗

Integration with your infrastructure

  • Telegram, LMS (Moodle, iSpring), CRM, Google Workspace.
  • API for data exchange with your systems.
  • Analytics and reporting — built-in or export to BI.
🤝

Handoff and support

  • Code, documentation, and access — all yours.
  • Training your team to manage the product.
  • Ongoing support and iterations on subscription — or full autonomy.

Why it's faster and cheaper: what is low-code

Low-code and no-code are development approaches where part of the code is auto-generated or replaced with visual builders. This doesn't mean "worse" — it means "faster."

  • 3-5x faster than traditional development: instead of writing every line — reusing modules and AI-generated code.
  • 3-5x cheaper: a team of 2-3 specialists delivers what agencies need 5-8 people and 3-6 months for.
  • Not "disposable": code is handed over to you, the product scales, is maintained, and iterated on.

We use this approach in our own products (EdUnit Bot, QuantaQuiz, ScriptCheck) — all three run in production.

Custom LMS development

If off-the-shelf learning platforms don't cover your needs, we'll design and build one. Non-standard scenarios, integrations with your systems, AI features — everything a boxed solution can't do.

Alternative to Moodle and iSpring

Moodle requires serious configuration, iSpring is limited to standard scenarios. If your task goes beyond what typical platforms offer, we'll build a solution that works exactly the way you need.

Who custom development is for

🏢

Companies without a dev team

Challenge

You have a training task, but no developers and no budget for a full team.

Solution

A working solution in 1-4 months — designed and built turnkey.

👩‍💼

Corporate L&D departments

Challenge

Need a tool built for your processes, not yet another universal platform.

Solution

A bot or trainer built around your policies and integrated into your ecosystem.

🏫

Educational organizations

Challenge

Moodle doesn't solve the problem, budget is tight, IT is busy with other things.

Solution

An educational tool designed by a methodologist and built by a developer — turnkey

How the process works

1

Task analysis

2-5 days

You describe the task, target audience, and business goals. We run an express audit: what's technically feasible, which stack is optimal, which AI features make sense.

2

Design

1-3 weeks

User scenarios, learning logic, architecture. You get a prototype and technical spec — before development begins.

3

Development

3-10 weeks

Building on a modern stack. Weekly iterations — you see progress and make changes on the fly.

4

Launch and handoff

1 week

Launch with real users. Code handoff, documentation, and training for your team.

FAQ

How is EdUnit different from a regular web studio?
We don't just write code — we design the learning experience. The EdUnit team built three products of our own (EdUnit Bot, QuantaQuiz, ScriptCheck), so we know not only how to build, but how to make people actually learn. A regular studio will build you 'an app with quizzes.' We build a product that solves an educational problem. Our small team and modern stack let us work faster and cheaper than a studio.
How much does development cost?
Cost depends on complexity — we give a precise estimate after analyzing your task (free, 30 minutes). See the Pricing section on this page for details.
What happens after launch? Will there be support?
After launch, we hand over code, documentation, and train your team. Then two options: you operate independently (everything is yours), or we support the product on subscription (iterations, updates, tech support). A freelancer who vanishes after delivery — that's not us.
Why custom development when there are ready-made platforms (Moodle, iSpring)?
Off-the-shelf platforms solve standard tasks. If you need specific learning scenarios, custom integrations, AI features trained on your data, or your own brand — ready-made won't work. We take on tasks that standard platforms can't cover.
Can I start with a free consultation?
Yes. The first step is an express task analysis (free, 30 minutes). We'll tell you what's technically feasible, which stack fits, how long it takes, and what it costs. No obligations.
